Liverpool sex worker outreach.
In November 2021, WithYou launched a new pilot service in the All Saints Church on Sheil Road, an area of Liverpool where many women who engage in sex work see clients. This approach took the drug and alcohol services directly to women, rather than asking women to travel to WithYou’s hubs.
The report showcases the positive impact of our pilot program, which included a drop-in service where women could access immediate assistance including a health check from a nurse, opioid substitution therapy, sexual health screenings, and housing support. Through direct outreach and partnerships with local organisations, including Merseyside Police, Streetwise, and the local IDVA service, we successfully addressed barriers to accessing support, such as stigma and geographical challenges.
